FLORASIS X ASIAN GAMES: CELEBRATING THE PAST WHILE HONORING THE PRESENT
The Asian Games Cultural Exhibition: A Playful Gathering of Iconic Mascots
As we honor past mascots of the 1990 Beijing and 2012 Guangzhou Asian Games, this year the Asian Games welcomed the latest additions of Congcong, Chenchen, and Lianlian in Hangzhou.
On 25 August, the mascots from previous Asian Games gathered at the Hidden Villa, marking the grand opening of the Asian Games Cultural Exhibition.
Nostalgic Treasures From Asian Games Past
Open to the public until the closing day of the Asian Games (8 October), the exhibit focused on previous Beijing and Guangzhou Asian Games, and numerous Hangzhou Asian Games art installations decorated the halls of the Hidden Villa.
"This way, there is a complementary effect, providing everyone with a richer cultural experience," explained a Florasis staff member. "We hope that through this exhibition, by exploring the small details, everyone can witness the grand story of the 'Asian Games' together and feel the power of Chinese heritage."
Winding Stream Parties and the Elegance of the Song Dynasty Space
In addition to showcasing the Asian Games Cultural exhibit, the Hidden Villa underwent its own transformation. Decorated with integrated art installations infused with Asian Games cultural elements and Chinese garden aesthetics, the "Asian Games Cultural Space" blended the spirit of the games and the ambiance of a Chinese garden into one.
Our theme: Winding Stream Party. In ancient times, players would wait by a winding stream and compose poems before their cups of wine reached the composer. Rather than floating cups of alcohol, the stream is decorated with exquisite fragrances and products inspired by the West Lake.
Just as the inspiration for the design of the Hangzhou Asian Games sports logo comes from the concept of the Winding Stream Party, our inspiration also stems from the inheritance and innovation of the "Orchid Pavilion Preface," a piece of Chinese calligraphy written by the famed ancient calligrapher Wang Xizhi that echoes the aesthetic philosophy of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
The "Winding Stream" installation also takes inspiration from the facade of the Hidden Villa and combines elements from Asian Games sports. Depicted using the fluid lines of traditional Chinese ink painting and extending from the exterior to the interior, it seamlessly weaves through the entire villa.
On the second floor of the Scholar's Symposium area, lies the "Four Elegances of the Song Dynasty." Here, visitors can experience the meticulous elegance of daily life in the Song era by burning incense, arranging flowers, making tea, and appreciating paintings.
"We hope that through this space and exhibition, we can showcase the art of Chinese hospitality to the world," said a staff member. "Whether it's kindred spirits from within the country or friends from abroad, we want everyone to feel the charm of Chinese quality and culture within the Hidden Villa."
Welcoming Faraway Friends From Seven Nations
Welcoming guests from Afghanistan, Oman, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Thailand, and Indonesia to the Hidden Villa, guests learned about the history of the Asian Games in China and the aesthetic philosophy behind our products and brand.
"This is my second time in this store, and I am deeply impressed. All the products and displays here are beautiful."
In addition to exploring the Hidden Villa, guests also donned traditional Chinese horse-face skirts and tried Florasis products for themselves.
After her first Chinese makeup experience, one athlete from Oman was deeply impressed. She exclaimed, “I love this trip so much! I am truly attracted by Florasis' Chinese qualities. I'm taking back many products I love and plan to recommend them to more friends!”
Each guest was also gifted a commemorative Eastern Jade gift set, with some guests testing our iconic Jade pressed powder and being thoroughly impressed by its weightless finish.
A Gift of Jade
Jade was our chosen emblem of beauty, strength, and purity for the Asian Games. Like an athlete's painstaking path to victory, Only through immense patience and meticulous craftsmanship can jade reveal its true magnificence. A source of brilliant warmth and unyielding strength, jade cannot be carved, only abraded. Victory cannot be bought, only earned.
Filled with jade-infused products, the Eastern Jade Dressing Case is a testament to the beauty of heroic effort and heroism in the pursuit of beauty. A warm and precious gift, we were glad to match the beauty and power of jade with the power of these gifted athletes.
