A Dream in Gold: Florasis Wins at The A'Design Award & Competition
When Ancient Craftmanship Soars
At Florasis we've always been proud to work with world-class craftsmen to preserve ancient handicrafts, heritage, and create one-of-a-kind designs. Today, we're thrilled to announce that two of our Hidden Villa exhibit pieces have won a Platinum and Gold at the A'Design Awards.
Thanks to the hard work and collaboration of our in-house designers Li Yuan, Hu Juanjuan, and Master Filigree Artist Changjun Yuan, two of our iconic products were reborn through the ancient art of filigree.
A Labor of Love
Using gold filament wires as thin as 0.2mm, Master Yuan's steady hand spent hours knitting, weaving, pinching, filing, and assembling a fully functional Love Lock lipstick case and decorative powder compact cover.
Both pieces are fully functional makeup products and are works of modern technology and ancient artform. The artwork was painstakingly created by hand, and the body of the lipstick and compact case were 3D printed.
Florasis Gold Filigree Love Lock Lipstick
Platinum A'Design Award
A 5,000-year-old token of affection made even more luxurious. Beyond being a functional lipstick case, the Love Lock lipstick comes with an intricate gold chain and the peacock tail is a removable brooch. The brooch represents the Dai people's most beloved emblem, the peacock.
In Chinese mythology, the Love Lock is said to contain the love of countless people. A symbolically resonant piece, the Gold Filigree Love Lock combines a precious vision of love with gold, a rare metal that never tarnishes.
In ancient times, locks were used to safeguard precious items. Today, Love Locks symbolize the enduring strength of love and the hope of everlasting union.
Florasis Gold Filigree Peacock Face Powder
Gold A'Design Award
Our second winner takes our weightless color-correcting peacock engraved Peach Blossom Powder and encases it in gold. The abstract peacock filigree captures a dancing peacock's flowing plumage mid-dance and can be removed and worn as a delicate brooch.
In Dai culture, the peacock represents beauty, luck, and happiness. Today the Dai people are famed for their Peacock Dance, a graceful folk dance mimicking the beauty of the peacock.
